David Lee Hoffman Jr. age 50, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born to David Hoffman Sr. and Carolyn James February 23, 1968 in Hollywood, Florida. “Big Dave” loved collecting comic books and sports memorabilia, he was a huge Alabama Football fan, and a man of many traits. Even into the latter stages of his illness Dave still managed to cut the grass and make himself useful, he was always known as a hard worker who loved people. Visiting with friends, neighbors and even strangers brought him much joy as well as being outdoors. Those who knew Dave will always remember his big smile and warm heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Kay James.
Dave is survived by his wife of 18 years, Vickie Sue Hoffman; two sons, Joshua Walker and wife Peggy and Randall Shutes; one brother, Phillip James and wife Deseree; two sisters, Deborah White and husband Jonah and Sharon Franco and husband Joe; two granddaughters Scarlett and Sophie; five nephews and nieces Samantha, Matthew, Morgan, Scottie and Destiny.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak grove Pentecostal Ministries, 1131 Highway 179 Bonifay, Florida 32435 with Pastor Tracy Hobbs officiating.
