Maelene (Elmore) Meckley

Francis Maelene Meckley, 62, of Daleville, Alabama, passed away on April 30, 2018 in Enterprise, Alabama. She was born October 18,1955 in  Kentucky to the late William and Lola Elmore.

Francis proudly served as flight instructor in the United States Army for many years. She was a woman of little needs and wants and was devoted to making sure her family was taken care of and had everything they wanted and needed and then some. She was a very simple person. When her daughters were younger, she enjoyed going to the softball fields, loved to play board games with them as she has with her grandkids. She loved getting her grandkids during the summer for a little while so she could spoil them by taking them to the pool, movies and the park. When she wasn’t spoiling kids, she enjoyed playing bingo and reading. She had a love for animals, especially horses. She also had a passion for her job but above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids the most. 

She is survived by her husband, Terry Meckley of Daleville, AL; daughters, Penny Brock and husband, Chad Brock of Freeport FL, Kristina Pate and husband, William Pate of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Landon Pate and Aubrey Brock; nephew, George Haggard of Middleburg, KY.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Lola Mae (Corbin) Elmore; her sisters, Joyce Haggard and Betty Silvy; and her brother, William Elmore.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 10:00  - 11:00 A.M. with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Magnolia Funeral Home, 507 W Main St, Hartford, AL 36344. Interment will follow at Daleville Memorial Garden Cemetery.
