William Martin Key, age 82, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 in Dothan, Alabama. He was born February 23, 1936, to Ivan and Amparo Key in Miami, Florida where he resided for 62 years. He was a truck driver for over 30 years and was also involved in scouting. He became the scoutmaster for troop 480 and his youngest son Patrick became an eagle scout. William’s love for the Florida Keys, fishing and enjoying a few drinks was evident; but paled in comparison to the love he had for his family, they were most important to him and he spent as much time with them as he could. He retired to Hartford, Alabama where he spent the last 20 years of his life. William will always be remembered as a devoted family man, who would always say, he had a great life.
William is preceded in death by his parents; Ivan and Amparo Key; four brothers, Eugene Key, Franklin Key, Earl Key, Daniel Key; and one Daughter Krystal Key.
He is survived by three sons; Michael Key, William Key, and Patrick Key; eight grandchildren Tyler, Jacob, Brandon, Zachary, Kristina, Genisis, Jarrett, Saige
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018 beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Magnolia Funeral Home, 507 West Main Street, Hartford, Alabama.
