Daniel “Dan” Gary Mayo, age 60, a resident of Bonifay, Florida passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 in Gainesville, Florida. He was born July 26, 1959 in Bonifay, Florida to James Z. and Mary Alice Gray Mayo. Dan was an enthusiastic Trump supporter who enjoyed freshwater fishing, riding motorcycles, giving honor to the good ol’ USA, and cheering for the University of Alabama football team. Roll Tide! He was recognized by others as a man who marched to the beat of his own drum. Dan was a family man. His generous nature did not go unnoticed and can be measured by his enormous amount of friends.
He is preceded in death by both parents; one son, Jordan Mayo; three brothers, James, Joel C., and Richard Mayo; and two sisters, Grace Parker and Frances Bailey.
Dan is survived by two daughters, Danielle Gay and husband Nick and Karen Segers and husband Caleb; two sons, Daniel and Dayton Mayo; two step-daughters, Bernadette Lloyd and Morgan Miller; one step-son, Mason Miller and wife Lia; numerous grandchildren who affectionately called him, “PePaw”; five sisters, Kate Grimsley, Virginia Wooten, Lonice Goodyear and husband Brad, Debbie Mayo, and Martha Mayo; and two brothers, John Mayo and wife Winna and Raymond Mayo and wife Cindy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Grace Fellowship Christian Church, 2249 Highway 179, Caryville, Florida 32425, beginning at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Jerrod Jenkins and Minister Danny Carnley officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal services will follow in the Bonifay City Cemetery.
