Jacqueline Norris Jennings, age 82, of Ponce de Leon, Florida passed away Friday, July 2, 2021, at her residence. She was born February 23, 1939, to Worthy Roger and Jessie Lee Hornsby Norris in Ponce de Leon, Florida. Jacqueline was an only child and a lifelong resident of Ponce de Leon. Working in her garden and tending her flowers was one of her favorite pastimes. As far as her favorite people, well they had four legs: you could often hear her jokingly say, she loved her cats and dogs more than her children. Caring for others brought Jacqueline much joy and it was evident in her career as a CNA and her love for others. Jacqueline will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and widowed by two husbands, Joseph (Jim) Lanier and Eldon Dean Jennings.
Jacqueline is survived by two sons Larry Lanier and Ronnie Lanier; one daughter, Beverly Hitchcock; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at the Davis-Watkins Chapel, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, beginning at 11 a.m. with Minister Joel Davis officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal services will follow at Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Arrangements and services are under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home of Hartford.
