Joseph Zamboni Obituary

Joseph Albert Pate Zamboni, age 73, a long time resident of Slocomb, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his sleep February 7, 2022. He was a devoted husband, wonderful father, and an incredible PawPaw.  Joseph was born November 29, 1948 in Lancaster, Ohio. He was an only child and was doted on constantly by his adoring mother. He met his wife, Linda, in Dothan, Alabama in the early months of 1968. Later that year, on June 28, Linda and Joe were married. Two years to the day later, Joe became a father to his one and only child, Connie. He then moved his family to Slocomb, Alabama, where he lived out the remainder of his life. During his many years in Slocomb, Joe was a member of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce, the Malvern Fire Department, and he often visited with the elderly at the Hartford Senior Center, alongside his wife. As he grew older, he lived with his daughter and son-in-law. He attended Christ Family Church, and spent the rest of his time watching old westerns. He often enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and sneaking snack cakes to his great-grandchildren. Our PawPaw will be greatly missed.

Joseph is survived by his only daughter, Connie Forbes(Danny); his three grandchildren, Douglas Howell, Kylee Chavers (Johnnie), and Gina Godby (Cameron); and his eight great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Linda Gayle Zamboni; his mother, Alta Jane Pate; and his father, Joseph Louis Zamboni.

In lieu of flowers, any donation can be given to GoFundMe to cover his final expenses. His memorial service will be held  March 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Malvern Baptist Church, 161 Church St., Slocomb, Alabama 36375. A reception will be held for the family at Christ Family Church immediately following the service. We ask that those who would like to bring food for the family do so at that time.
