Orlie Prates Obituary

Mr. Orlie Leroy Prates, age 80, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020, at his residence in Hartford, Alabama after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 19, 1940 in Flint Michigan to Mrs. Edith Radomski Prates. Orlie lived most of his life in Harrison, Michigan where he was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church; an active member of the Moose Lodge; Outside Guard with the Knights Of Columbus, and Sergeant of Arms with the CB Club in the Early 80s.

Orlie lived his life to the fullest; being outdoors hunting, fishing, and participating in the Demolition Derby brought him much joy; but the time spent with his wife Carol drinking coffee, and fellowshipping with friends at Jack Pines Restaurant, were most special to him. Orlie was a recent transplant to Hartford, Alabama.

He is Preceded in death by his mother, Edith Radomski Prates and a cousin, Allen Bond.

Orlie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol Louise Prates; 3 daughters, from a previous marriage, Dawn Bartowski, Leann, and Paula; 2 daughters, Karen Howe and husband, Stephen of Cave City, Kentucky, and Jacquelyn Popp and husband, Richard of Hartford; one son, Bryan Ailles and wife, Sandra of Stanton, Michigan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is surely missed and dearly loved by his family. Orlie’s legacy of love and hard work will live on forever.
