Ms. Annie Myrl McKnight, age 92, of Headland, Alabama passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center after a short illness. She was born July 10, 1924 in Pinckard, Alabama where she spent her early years there before moving to Newton, Alabama. Myrl married Mr. Shellie P. McKnight on January 18, 1941, and together raised six sons.

Myrl was a nurse for over 30 years serving at the Dale County Hospital in Ozark, Alabama, Flowers Hospital & Wesley Manor in Dothan, Alabama, where she retired after 20 years of service. She was Methodist by Faith and loved gospel music and helping others.

She is preceded in death by three sons; Larry McKnight, Ronnie McKnight, and Jackie McKnight.

Myrl is survived by three sons; David McKnight and wife Lanis of Malvern, Alabama, Mike McKnight and wife Rene of Montgomery, Alabama, Mark McKnight and wife April of Headland, Alabama; 8 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at Newton United Methodist Church of Newton, Alabama located 209 King Street on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Hosea Parker & Rev. Mike McKnight officiating with burial to follow at Newton City Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home of Hartford, Alabama.
